ED105 - Instructional Planning for Student Success

This course shows instructors how to develop a comprehensive approach to effective and efficient instruction. From preparation for the classroom to selection of instructional delivery methods, the course provides effective ways of planning instruction to help instructors keep the content focused and the students engaged. We also cover the steps to set up a complete evaluation system that will work in all settings.


Module 1: Preparing Yourself for the Classroom

  • Identify the different kinds of instructors in career colleges.
  • Assess your strengths as an instructor.
  • Identify different resources that can be used by instructors.

Module 2: Selecting Instructional Delivery Methods

  • Describe the meanings of instruction, training, learning and education.
  • Select appropriate media for different instructional settings.
  • Use different instructional media effectively.

Module 3: Troubleshooting Instructional Strategies

  • Reorganize course content based upon student feedback.
  • Select appropriate delivery methods based upon student needs.
  • Analyze course content delivery problems.

Module 4: Creating an Evaluation System

  • List the reasons for evaluating students.
  • Create a fair grading system.
  • Identify different ways of evaluating students.
