I really appreciated the reminder of the different types of students (Baby boomers, Gen X & Millennials). This will help me communicate more wisely and thoroughly knowing my students.

I appreciated EL105's approach to looking at the various types of communication with technology, various types of computer users, and various types of communication within an online course. It seems as if they stirred all three of these categories in a bowl and pulled out of the oven two desserts: a college or department communication guidelines and a personal I2S communication guidelines as well.

As a faculty member who is fairly new to the online format of teaching, this course provided good information as to the importance of good communication in the online type of class. I found the course interesting and very informative.

It was a very good course regarding communication. I learned some things that I will definately apply to the classroom setting.

Enjoyed the clarity and pacing. These modules know just when to offer a thinking break and when to insert end of section quizzes. :)

I did learn how important is for the instructor to develop the code, communicate the code to students, follow the code, and enforce consequences as needed.

This course helps instructors value the diversity of their student population, whether it be age, knowledge of technology in general, and their ability (or difficulty) to effectively communicate within a social/online environment. Once this is put into perspective, the overall selection of tools to be used within the classroom becomes more specific and direct, helping both the instructor and students achieve higher levels of understanding and communication. Overall, it was a very relevant and appreciated topic.

Communication is key in all aspects of Higher Education. I appreciate what I have learned in EL105.

This course was very useful because it is assisting me in learning how to communicate effectively with students in an online environment. The challenges were discussed and the solutions to these issues was addressed. I learned that some methods of communication are more effective for one generation versus another. It is important to become familiar with these methods and implement it in my course to assist students to meet the course objectives. Overall, this course was very good and I learned information that will be useful for me as an online instructor.
