I have completed this course and I am incorporating the steps outlined when interacting with online learners, communicating coursework/assignments and providing feedback. Also, this course provided great insight regarding the importance of the "Working Alliance," this positive working relationships is how we gain and maintain the trust, rapport and mutual agreement with our students.

This course is relevant and provides some very practical examples of how to implement some of the techniques to positively impact student retention.

I enjoyed the examples of messages, and will be incorporating some of the language into my own messages to online students.

I found this course to be surprisingly fresh, and surprisingly useful, particularly the fourth module - Online Communication Strategies. Although I had already arrived at most of those techniques, the frameworks this module provided will strengthen my practice by making it more reflective and more systematic.

This course is very informative and contains updated information on the current trends and status of online learning and perceptions. I have been teaching online for several years and new research presented was interesting to read. This course also provides suggestions for outreach techniques to employ in establishing rapport with students. The statistics about the growing rate of online education provides information that indicates future trends in online education.

The course is designed to help instructors with great examples on how to communicate with students in a online environment.

Second, it's full of action items, not just descriptions of the situation. The inclusion of intermediate and advanced communication techniques was worth the price of admission alone. Third - and the biggest reason this course stands head and shoulders above many others - is that it's backed up by extensive research. The course author cites abundant studies to support the content. This was as good or better than many college courses I've taken (albeit shorter, of course). Please, please, please continue to use this course author. S/he is AWESOME!
